Judy O'Young

Hello, my name is Judy O'Young and I am a board-certified anesthesiologist in the East Bay. A native of Oakland, CA I am a proud graduate of UC Berkeley and UCSF Medical School. After internship and residency at UCSF, I finished a cardiac anesthesiology fellowship at Mass General Hospital in Boston. Since that time, I was in private practice in Oakland, transitioning to Kaiser Oakland-Richmond in 2004. After my fellowship, I volunteered with numerous NGOs including Interplast/ReSurge, Operation Smile, Rotaplast, Alliance for Smiles, LEAP and Hospital de la Familia. I am a member of the state Cal-Mat and federal DMAT CA-6 disaster teams, having deployed to the Haiti earthquake, hurricaine Irma, and the Paradise-Chico wildfires. I was a founding member of the Smile Train medical advisory board and served for 14 years. Lastly, I am a volunteer physician for RockMedicine which provides non-judgmental free medical assistance to Bay Area patrons at live music concerts and festivals and NFL games, having served at more than 400 events. My first two mission trips to Laos were in 1990-91, and I am eager to see how the country has changed. Thank you for the opportunity to volunteer with OI and look forward to meeting you all!
