Team Spain completed an amazing 80 surgeries for those in need in Tanzania. These life-changing procedures included tumor removal, hernia repair, and, thanks to the newly-added gynecologist on their team, c-sections and hysterectomies.
Team Spain was founded in 2020 by Dr. Carmen Nofuentes who volunteered by herself for one year at Operation International’s base in Ghana. The team continues to carry out an annual mission to several of OI's bases in Africa. They have been to Ghana and Uganda so far and will complete a mission in Tanzania in 2024.
