Team ENT completed their eighth mission to Guatemala and 11th overall in January. The team performed more than 60 major head and neck surgical cases and provided education to medical students on head/neck surgery.
Over the years Team ENT's missions have morphed from general, ENT, head, neck, and plastic surgery to more head and neck cancer-focused care. The team has been able to refine their mission trips to help those that have the worst problems. Some highlights from their 2024 mission include removing a large thyroid neck mass from a woman who took a 10 hour bus ride to access the care, operating on a 9 year old boy who suffered from a painful bump on the back of his head, and removing a mass from a 13-year-old girl's face.
