Team Surgical Relief completed a mission in Ghana for the second year, performing an impressive 136 surgeries in just over four days in the country. The small but mighty team includes four general surgeons, two head and neck surgeons, three certified nurse anesthetists, three surgical nurses/technologists, as well as other support staff.
Surgeries performed during Team Surgical Relief's 2024 mission included hernia repairs in children and adults, removal of large thyroid tumors, as well as additional general surgical and plastic surgery procedures. The team was also able to teach and train local medical personnel to ensure that they may continue to provide needed care once the mission is completed.
