Team Florida finished their first medical mission, completing an impressive 98 surgeries during their week in Ghana. On their first trip as a team, the medical experts spent five days treating patients with a range of needs at Holy Family Hospital in Techiman. Team FL is a diverse group of specialists set up to handle complex general surgery, pediatric surgery, and plastic surgery needs.
Team Florida provided life-changing medical care to nearly 100 patients during their first mission, including many young patients. Among the cases was a three year old patient whose hand was operated on. The young boy’s mom told Operation International she had been waiting since January for the team to come perform the operation, which she hopes will bring a smile to her son’s face.
