In the first mission for Team UK since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, a transatlantic team of 8 members headed back to Holy Family hospital, Techiman, Ghana.
It was an emotional reunion between the OI volunteers and the Holy Family hospital staff, both teams having much to be thankful for. With extra precautions in place for covid safety, the team was able to rise to the challenge of triaging and treating 168 patients within 5 days. The team performed a wide variety of cases from repairing chronic hernias to head and neck tumours and more. The mission was held in honour of a dearly departed team member Craig Mastracci, CRNA.
