Team Spain treated more than 150 patients during their 12 days in Ghana, often working 11 to 12 hour days.
Among the procedures performed by the group of medical professionals were hernias, goiters, and emergency laparotomies.
Team Spain was first coordinated by Dr. Carmen Nofuentes, who spent all of 2021 at the Holy Family Hospital of Techiman, Ghana. The year included one month where other team members joined Dr. Nofuentes and performed more than 200 operations.
The 2022 return to Ghana was the team's first official medical mission.
